Spicy Sauce for Birria Tacos
This Spicy Sauce for Birria Tacos gives your tacos a spicy kick. Its made with tomatoes, dried chilies, and spices, which makes a strong and tasty sauce.
Ingredients:
- 4 dried guajillo chilies
- 2 dried ancho chilies
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups hot water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 14
- 5-ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
Remove the stems and seeds from the dried chilies
Place the chilies in a bowl and pour hot water over them
Let them soak for 15 minutes until softened
In a blender, combine the soaked chilies, garlic, cumin, oregano, cloves, black pepper, salt, and 1 cup of hot water
Blend until smooth
Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat
Add chopped onions and saut until translucent
Add the chili mixture from the blender to the saucepan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally
Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, and apple cider vinegar
Simmer the sauce for about 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens and the flavors meld
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before using it as a spicy sauce for your delicious Birria Tacos
