Winter Wonderland Cupcakes
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy canes
- 1 batch of vanilla buttercream frosting your preferred recipe
- Blue food coloring
- Silver edible glitter optional
Instructions:
Warm your oven up to 350 F 175C and put paper liners in a cupcake tin
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk
Put away
In a different large bowl, beat the sugar and softened butter together until the mixture is light and fluffy
One at a time, add the eggs and mix well after each one
Add the vanilla extract and mix well
Add the hot water to a small bowl and mix the cocoa powder in it until its smooth
Let it cool down a bit
Mix the cocoa mix into the butter and sugar until everything is well mixed together
The dry ingredients should be added to the batter one at a time, followed by the buttermilk
The dry ingredients should be added last
Dont mix any further than that
The crushed peppermint candy canes and white chocolate chips should be carefully mixed in
Fill each cupcake liner about two thirds of the way to the top with batter
After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean
First, let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes
Then, move them to a wire rack to cool completely
To make it look like winter, make a batch of vanilla buttercream frosting and add blue food coloring to it
Using a piping bag or spatula, frost the cupcakes that have cooled with the blue frosting
If you want to make the cupcakes look like its winter, you can sprinkle them with silver edible glitter
