- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- For the BBQ Sauce:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper to create a dry rub
Brush each steak with olive oil and generously coat them with the dry rub on both sides
Place the steaks on the preheated grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your desired doneness
While the steaks are cooking, prepare the BBQ sauce by combining ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan
Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until it thickens
During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush the steaks with the BBQ sauce on both sides, allowing it to caramelize
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving
Serve the steaks with extra BBQ sauce on the side
Enjoy your mouthwatering BBQ steak
