Vegan Rava Dosa & Coconut Chutney Mix

Enjoy the convenience of a ready-to-make vegan Rava Dosa mix combined with a flavorful Coconut Chutney mix. Just add water and a few simple ingredients to create delicious South Indian breakfast or snack options.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semolina rava
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup chickpea flour besan
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • A handful of fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1/4 cup roasted chickpeas optional for extra texture
  • A handful of fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

To make Rava Dosa, put semolina, rice flour, chickpea flour, chopped onion, green chilies, grated ginger, cilantro, and salt in a bowl

Slowly add water until you have a thin batter

Take a break for 15 to 20 minutes

Set a dosa tawa or nonstick skillet on medium heat

Pour a small amount of batter into the pan and spread it out in a circle

Put oil around the edges

Its done when its golden brown and crispy

If you want, flip it over and cook the other side

Do it again with the rest of the batter

Serve hot with chutney made of coconut

Grate the coconut, add the green chilies, ginger, roasted chickpeas if using, cilantro, lemon juice, and salt to a blender

This will make the Coconut Chutney Mix in a Jar

Mix until its smooth

If you need to, add water to change the consistency

Put the chutney in a jar that wont let air in

You can keep it in the fridge for up to a week

To serve, add water to the ready-made chutney until it reaches the consistency you want

If you want to add more flavor, you can temper the food with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies
